In this part i will give more critical analysis of this poem.

The Critical Analysis of this poem

A. Alliteration

Aliteration is the repetition of the same sound at the beginning of words. in this poem i found a alliteration in the first stanza.

I have been one acquainted with the night.

I have walked out in rain - and back in rain.

I have outwalked the furthest city light.

In the second line we could easily to know the repetition. rain was repeated two times.

B.  Atmosphere

Atmosphere is the general tone and mood of a work of art. In this poem i found one thing that shows the atmosphere. It's on first lane of second stanza.

I have looked down the saddest city lane

That line shows that the speaker felt how sad the city was. Then the speaker gave explanation in second line of third stanza.

When far away an interrupted cry

This cry sound gives a sense of reader audiotories then think how sad it was.

C. Foreshadowing

Foreshadowing is a word kind of hints in advance will show up. In this poem i found it on the same of atmosphere analysis. The first line of second stanza show the hint then it show up at second line of third stanza.

E. Frame of reference

The frame of reference in this poem i think it is realism of nightly place
