Acquainted With The Night by Robert Frost Analysis Part 2

In this part, I will show my assumption and the analysis of imagery in the poem. but after you read it please like, comment and share it... :) :)

B. Assumption

My assumption of this poetry is about a person who live long in a city

C. Imagery

Based on literarydevices.net, Imagery means to use figurative language to represent objects, actions and ideas in such a way that it appeals to our physical senses. From oxforddictionaries.com, imagery means [mass noun] Visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work. So imagery means word that describe of something that make sense to the reader or make the reader feel like the words could see, touch or feels.

There are 5 (five) kind of imagery that we could find in any work. But now, I just found 3 (three) kinds of imagery in this work.

1. Visual

Visual is an imagery which show the sense of visual. In this poem I found some visual imageries.
I have looked down the saddest city lane. (stanza 2 line 1)
In that line, the speaker said that he looked city's street. He said that it was the saddest part of city's street.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat (stanza 2 line 2)
This line describe what he seen when he look the city's street. It shows that he see the watchman or security guardian and he passed it.

2. Auditory

Auditory is an imagery that sense of hearing. There are some of auditory imageries that I found.
I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet (stanza 3 line 1)
The speaker said that he stop his walking by word sound of feet. this words sound of feet shows that he use figurative language to show the connotative language.
When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,
(stanza 3 line 2 & 3)
Now the speaker heard the sound of a cry which came from house in another lane of the town

3. Kinesthetic

Kinesthetic is an imagery which sense of touch, temperature, movement and feeling.
I have walked out in rain - and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.
(stanza 1 line 2 & 3)
In these two lines, the speaker show the movement imagery with the word walked and outwalked. It said that he has been walked in the rain and in the clear weather. He also said that he has walked to all around the town.
One luminary clock against the sky (stanza 3 line 3)
This words show the another movement imagery in this poem. Word "against" is the point of this line that means he move his head and see the sky.
In this line also has feeling imagery. It show by word "luminary". He tells that it was the best time ever.

This is the end of this part. I hope you satisfy and don't forget to like, comment and share...:) :) :)
