Acquaintace With The Night Analysis part 5

In this analaysis i will expalin about the denotation and connotation within the poem.

First i will paraphrase the poem with each to each stanza.

Stanza 1

I have been one acquainted with the night

I have walked out in rain – and back in rain.

I have outwalked the furthest city light.

In that stanza the poem says that he has know the night or friend with the night by walk either rain and not. he use words furthest city lights which mean He has visited the outest city.

Stanza 2

I have looked down the sadddest city lane.

I have passed by the watchman on his beat

And dropped my eyes, unnwilling to explain.

This stanza give the additional explanation from the first stanza. He says that he has visit

Stanza 3

I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet

When far away an interrupted cry

Came oveer houses from another street,

That word said that he has stopped his walk to hear deeper a cry from another street.

Stanza 4

But not to call me back or say good-bye;

And further still at an unearthly height,

One luminary clock against the sky

This stanza explain about

Stanza 5

Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right

I have been one acquainted with the night.

This stanza is different with another stanza because it juat has two lines. This two line says that time was state something and he reconfirm that he has acquainted with the night.
